Why do we love Silicone?
Here at Ollie+Zara we love Silicone. One of the reasons we started Ollie+Zara was because we couldn't find bath toys that were safe, easy to clean and aesthetically pleasing when Zara was little. All we could find were plastic, brightly coloured bath toys that went mouldy very quickly and were hard to keep clean. Silicone (100% food grade) was the perfect solution and here's why:
- Mould resistant
- Odourless and stain resistant
- Food safe (safe for your little ones to chew)
- Free from BPAs, phthalates, lead and toxins
- Durable, flexible and resistant to damage and extreme temperatures
- If cared for properly it won't harden, crack, peel, crumble, dry out, rot or become brittle over time
- Endless colour possibilities!
One of our first silicone products was the Noah's Ark Bath Toy that we customised to our colours and design, and our range has grown from there. All of our silicone bath toys either come apart for easy drying and cleaning or are a one piece mould with holes meaning water drains away in order to resist mould. The best part is that all of our silicone products (apart from our silicone products that also include timber), can be put through the dishwasher if they get a little dirty.
We are also passionate about design and colour and we understand as parents that it's nice to have toys that look beautiful when on display in your home, because let's face it, kids toys generally end up all over the house. Our aim is to bring you toys that are not just practical and functional, but also aesthetically pleasing and will compliment your home and lifestyle.
