Why do we love the Little Chomps Messy Mealtime Feeding Smock Bibs at Ollie and Zara?
We have been using feeding smocks since Zara started solids at 6mths old and now also with Oliver. Over that time, we have tried a number of different styles and brands, and we can honestly say that Little Chomps is one of our favourites for a number of reasons.
Firstly, I love the buttery soft fabric, and how easy it is to wipe clean. It also doesn't stain like I have experienced with others. Secondly, it might seems like a small detail, but we also love that the elastic withstands lots of use and doesn't stretch like I have experienced with others before.
Honestly, we couldn't live without our Little Chomps Messy Mealtime Feeding Smock bib! It saves Zara and Oliver's clothes and means I spend less time trying to get food stains out of clothes, and they can eat in their pyjamas and go straight to bed without the need for a change of clothes. In my opinion its' an essential baby item for every parent with a little one.
My little one are REALLY messy eaters. I pulled off this smock after our first go almost a year expecting to see my what was always there before- clothes needing a change anyway. But no! Pristinely clean (well, as clean as they were before the meal). Can they still get food under there bottoms with concerted effort? Yes, it’s a smock not a force field. But I’ve not s seen anything that works this well.
Second thing I like is that my babies are not constantly trying to pull the smock off. They couldn’t if they tried with the snap deign (goodbye Velcro!). But they don’t really want to either as these smocks are water resistant without being annoying or heavy on their necks. They are nice and soft and breathable.
Third thing I love is the ease of washing. If it’s not too bad, I finish wiping my baby’s hands and face then give the smock a wipe over with the same cloth. If it’s past that point. I just pop it (the smock not the baby:) in the washing machine with my next cold load and line dry. No fuss. And no smell. That’s important because who wants to eat in a smock that smells gross?
These are not that expensive- you only need one and they actually work. On a cost by use basis, I would pay more and it would very soon pay for itself.
(I do have the little baby size and the older baby size. The little baby size
does come in handy when I haven’t got the other one through the wash yet.)
Yes, I’m gushing. But I’m sure all you parents out there understand, not having to change clothes every meal and snack of the day is a big deal, total game changer.
